Bank of Ireland School Bank
The T.Y. students in Roscommon Community College have opened a school bank in conjunction with Bank of Ireland under the guidance of Ms. Staunton, (Business Teacher) and Louise Greene and Lisa Daly, Business Advisor Assistants (Bank of Ireland). The school bank opens every Tuesday during lunchtime to facilitate students in opening an account or make lodgements to an existing account.
Applications for selection and appointment of the 2016-2017 school bank team is currently underway at the school. The successful applicants will undergo training in order to be fully confident to manage and run the school bank. It is an excellent opportunity for students to experience a real recruitment and selection process in addition to building their management and organisational skills.
Learn to Earn Programme
The Learn To Earn programme is delivered with the support of Bank of Ireland in conjunction with Junior Achievement Ireland. The programme is delivered by Bank of Ireland representatives with the support of the students’ Business Teacher, Ms. Staunton. It affords students the opportunity to prepare young people for the real world by sharing real work place experiences. The key concepts of the lessons show students how to budget, generate wealth and manage it effectively. Students learn the value of financial literacy and of positively contributing to their communities.
